Only one question:
Which programs do you use to make good new Graphics?
That wasa it .

I'd say blender is pretty good. You might want to use PS (or gimp, if you cant afford) o create the texture.
Blood of the innocents and a wall in my basement
Who le heck ever bought Photoshop?
people who don't realize there are alternatives. just like the ones who buy ducking microsoft word and other overpriced nonsense they put out.
I believe Adobe prefer people illegally downloading their programs rather than have people use competitors including The GIMP because it means people might buy a subscription once they're rich enough. Apparently Autodesk are similar, although you can get their shit for no cost if you have an .edu e-mail address.
i believe adobe is one of the dumbest companies out there. you can't even own their software anymore. want to edit a video? pay a sub. edit a picture? pay a sub. these are just not the things that should be paid for unless they're ultra good and you're not using them just for the occasional free project.
and what does that sub money even go to? an update that can be done for free?
"oh cool, the render button is in a different place now. adobe are using my sub dollars really well." - a dumb.

Gimp, Krita, and GraphicsGale are my goto programs for graphics. All of which are free or have a good free version, in GraphicsGale's case.

Probably. On the other hand, I don't care what Adobe prefers. Free software (not just the no money part, but the freedom part; some prefer to call it Open Source) is better than their stuff, because it gives me the freedom to do whatever I want with it. And if I don't like something, I can change it or have someone else change it for me. But I rarely have to do that, because someone else usually already did that.
The idea that software that costs money must be better is incorrect. Your statement suggests that everyone would of course want to use Adobe products if only they were allowed to. And that you're doing them a favor by using it illegally. That last part I agree with; they're not getting a sale from you anyway, but a user is better than nothing for them. So why would you want to do them any favors? I prefer to use better software and stay away from them.
So what do I use? For 3-D, Blender. For 2-D, usually Inkscape, which is vector based. If I really need pixels (which is rarely the case, but for Dink it is), I use Gimp. Krita is supposed to be pretty good as well; I haven't looked at that yet, so I don't know how it compares to Gimp.

Krita's more for making a digital art.
I found that open office paint is good for adjusting the color of your sprites.
Give GIMP a try. Very powerful alternative to Photoshop, and it's free!
Just downloaded it and tried it out. It's awesome, it's just what I have been looking for.

and if you're not yet convinced
just be sure to export them as bmps in 256 bits or whatever, something like that. then resave them in irfanview because it won't work anyways unless saved as the exact same thing in that.

I now raise the question. WTF IS THAT THING SKURN!
