The Dink Chat, although used a lot less than initially planned, will continue to live on. However, the server we're currently using (Liveharmony) has brought up a policy that I do not longer wish to follow, details about that matter can be found here. So we want to change to another network.

Details about the new server and our new functions can be found on the comments page.

The new server address is irc.aXpi.net, and the new port number is 7182. The network's name is natually aXpi. For those of you not familiar with IRC programs, please check out the tutorials we have on this matter, found at the Chat page here at The Dink Network. The only changes you have to do, is replace the server address and server port there with the new ones I just issued.

More news about Dink Chat; because of our network change, we now also have Java access to our room, which can be found here. This means you can access our chat room without installing any additional software, which should please most people not familiar with IRC, or those who just wanna chat, without wanting to handle the IRC network details manually. This should please those wanting the network to port to a Java chat.
Keep in mind that it can take up to 5 minutes from when you click "Connect" to when something actually happens. I usually get response from anywhere between 30 secs to two minutes, but you never know how long it might take. This delay is caused of the IRC stuff going on behind scenes.

EDIT: In case you have trouble connecting using the address irc.aXpi.net, which I have been told that some have, try using the raw ip address instead, 64.246.18.104, as that remedied the problem.

Only a few people use the chat, it seems. I talked to RustedSorrow a few hours ago, but we were the only ones to be here.

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to.I guess.
Kat, if you use trillian, you have to create a new IRC connection, you can't modify the old one, at least thats what I have to do.

You can't log in as moderator. The java chat is not any different from the IRC chat.. it just connects you to the irc chat through java.

You can't log in as a mod unless you're already a mod, and I believe I'm the only mod (Phoenix being not a mere moderator but a high and mighty channel owner ). It's the same IRC, but it has a java client to go with it now. So yes, it's the same commands, same room, same mods as it was on liveharmony.
