Saved the girl, found grandfather, He does not ask for letters, he speaks of his wife leaving him and ask me to tell her he misses her if i see her.

Well maybe that's exactly what you need to do.

His (former) wife lives in the town of Private which you must enter by hitting down a fence because the guard there doesn't like you entering through the main gate.

She isn't there. there is one woman , a little girl ,a farmer, and two other people in a dungeon. and the mayor at the front gate. talking to any of them does not get me the lantern.

You need to talk to one of those people in the dungeon (can't remember which one) they'll give you a quest to kill the mayor. Kill the mayor and everybody returns to their houses. You can then talk to the man's wife, she'll then give you the letters you need.

Found her, after i quit and set the compatibility mode to xpsp3, she was finally there. Thank you for the help and time.

It would be helpful if you had the saved game which demonstrates the issue so I can check it out. Scratching my head on what could be causing a problem there. bszczytko@gmail.com

Just had the same exact issue. Found the husband. Came back wife was missing. Saved at 3:56 in North Private. Reloaded game thinking it glitches. Reloaded the 3:56 game. It loads me into my house in Morabia with my play time at 3:26 wanting me to find the girl in the cave again. I've saved about 10 times since then.

So this is Def a Dmod breaking bug.
