heya ive just started on this whole dink thing
im on ubuntu
and im new to all of it
any help?
and how do you install the cheats on dink?
i have no clue at all

I wouldn't start by installing cheats on Dink. It takes all the fun away, and can even screw up some of the games.

ahh, i just downloaded it for my fun really i dont even know how to put some of the stuff in anyways.
could do with the extras as im a bit slow with it.

Dink is a great game, just play away and don't be in a rush to move on to the next part - build your strength, defence and magic up by killing off monsters etc and you wont need to cheat at all.
If you get stuck somewhere, just post back here and someone will be around to help.

You have to find your Dink data directory. I am not sure where it is. It's usually in /usr/var/games/Dink/dink or somewhere funny like that. If you run it from the command line it will probably pop up and tell you where to look.

Then you have to extract the Ultimate Cheat files into the Story directory and then ingame press the C buttons for the cheat menu.

that is due to the shootty system of admin rights in windows 7 to get around it simply open your unpacking file with admin rights if you have that power(hope so for you) then it will unpack it for you

please give me directions on how to do that?

dunno hw to in ubuntu but in windows 7 it is going to the extraction tool's executable and right clicking open as admin.(providing the system gave you enough access) all then needed is confirming you did it and not some spyware or other harmful code

Here you go:
1.Download ultimate cheats. (Ultimate Dink-Cheataz I suppose)

2. Extract the zip file
3. Select all files, right click on one of them and select copy.
4. Go into the folder you installed Dink. In it you should see another folder named 'dink'
5. Open it and go into 'story' folder.
6. Paste them all
7 Run the game
8. Press A for weapons, S for lots of stats, D for health.
9. Read the readme file in the cheataz folder if you want to know anything more.

The dink data on Ubuntu is in /usr/share/games/dink. I've gotten a lot of the dink stuff on Ubuntu figured out, so you can ask me if you have a problem. Don't know about cheat though. Sorry, I just don't use cheats (I'd rather spend hours cursing the game in language that would make a sailor cry... ).
