Normal and featured review?
I've always wondered, what's the difference beetwen normal and featured review? In my opinion, there's no difference in them.
Featured review is "better", Usually longer and better written.
If a review is featured it can appear as the review when you are on the download's 'main page'. A normal review can only appear there if there is no featured review for that file.
Usually featured reviews are more indepth, longer, and more grammatically acurate. But in practice it's quite subjective. If you write a review about a file which already has many large indepth reviews it's less likely to be 'featured' than if it's for a DMOD with very little reviews. And it's also dependant on the mood of whatever staffmember is approving the reviews.
EDIT:
Quote from the old rules page:
- A 'Good' review will generally have at least one good point on why they thought the file was what they rated it. If the review just doesn't make any sense, it will be invalidated. Good spelling and grammar help, but aren't required.
- An 'Excellent' review will generally describe the reviewer's position on several aspects of the file. Good spelling and grammar are required. It should also have a good layout... if there aren't any new lines, for example, it would be marked as 'Good'.
Good = normal
excellent = featured

I wouldn't use the word "better", it's more important that they're thorough. A normal review can be awesome, but if it just talks about the music of a dmod, for example, it won't get featured.
The old rules page puts it well, though they were called Good and Excellent back then. Before that they were called Short and Long. The names have just been getting more ambiguous since.
EDIT: MEEETAAAAACUUURRRSSSE YOUUUUU

Maybe I should start thinking before hitting 'submit'.

No, if you want to make people yell "MEEETAAAAACUUURRRSSSE YOUUUUU".
