Then I wish you luck trying to correct this... I has a bucket

I don't see what the crap having an Xbox has to do with being a dinker in the first place, so... screw whatever it says, yes? I'd assume it would put the gamertag you enter up somewhere, but no, highlighting the icon only says "I has a xbox" as pointed out earlier, and the profile pages of people don't show anything. So I ask, WTF—yes—WTF is it for?
Seeing your gamertag card on your profile is simply awesome and stroke-inducing. When I say "stroke," I'm not referring to the dire medical circumstance, either.
Disregarding that, it's about as substantial as listing AIM/YIM/MSN contacts or a link to a person's homepage. It is another way to connect to a given Dinker, though it just so happens to be different from the rest in that it doesn't involve the computer, for the most part.
Edit: After reading your post again, Phoenix, I have a hunch that an ad-blocking program or extension you're using prevents you from seeing anyone's gamertag on his or her profile.

Well, isn't it only fair to be able to include those Wii-thingies too, then?
No, I see yours, Tal. I just didn't see anything on mine, even though I entered something in that field. It is obviously a fake gamertag, though, which would explain nothing showing up.
Anyway, the point is that I feel it's more an advertisement—even endorsement—rather than means of contact. I mean, why don't we have World of Warcraft contact details? Ultima Online? Anarchy Online? EverQuest? MapleStory? Sony PlayOnline? The PlayStation Network? WiiConnect24? Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection? The list goes on.
Either include them all, or don't include any. Else, you're just being an endorsement channel for Xbox.

Yeah but PC's and X-Box's are the best stuff all the other machines!
Your avatar is apt, and all I have to say is thus.
This can only end well.

Answer: I have an Xbox 360. I thought it would be swell to find other Dinkers who also have Xbox 360s and play games against them. So, I added the 'Xbox Gamertag' column to the User table. As FSM as my witness, I did not foresee the terrible fire bird singing advertisement apocalypse.
In fact, I played Halo 3 with Sabretrout and Arik just a few days ago. It was fun. My goal has been fulfilled. [lie]I am now filled with a deep, almost cavernous, shame after realizing I was endorsing a product, a Microsoft product no less![/lie]
As always, I am the benevolent dictator of The Dink Network. The Dink Network is not, and has never been, a bastion of freedom and fairness. There are no immediate plans to add most of the services you listed, and many of them will never be listed.
I also have a Wii and PS3, so I may add support for them in the future, but just listing a friend code or a PSN tag is not nearly as interesting as the little iframe widget that Microsoft provides.
(P.S. Of course, the irony is that with G9 Phase 3, there are no more advertisements on The Dink Network. Before, TDN was just an endorsement channel for Google Ads, and we were whoring up a good chunk of screen real-estate for money!)

I've always wondered why people put 'P.S.''s in round brackets.
People on pre-XP boxes playing a decade-old freeware game have likely saved up enough money by now to afford several Xbox 360s. We are playing the devil's advocate, indeed.
I am happy playing my crappy freeware games. Xbox 360s suck.
HERESY!
(Second thought, should make this clear: Was referring to the free games comment)

Anyway...
Has anyone noticed down the bottom of the page, under the quotes, it says:
The Dink Network ©1998-2998 Red Recondite.
Tee hee hee...

Well, it's certainly not as fun as the Sexbox.
Where does the 360 come in?
It made me chuckle. I vote hilarious.
I'm feeling sad. So I didn't chuckle. Nor laugh.
