Does anyone care if I have End of the World and Zink removed?

Please Cindy, say the whole name each time.
I just played my old DMODs again, and wow... they're a lot worse than I remembered. Crossroads alone still brought a smile to my face - I still think that intro, which is all I really finished, was clever. But the others I spent in a constant state of frustration - bad map design, bad script, bad everything. Today I'm confident I could put together a better DMOD than "Zink", my best completed DMOD, in under a week. Honestly, It's like I'm a completely different person now. I can't believe my standards of quality used to be so low.

I don't really think EOTW and Zink have any redeeming qualities, so I'm considering asking Dan to remove them so that new people won't be subjected to my old crap. I'm mentioning this on the public forum because I'm not sure whether anybody cares about these mods and wouldn't want me to have them removed. ...so if anybody does care, lemme know soon. Thanks.

Remove them if you make new ones instead

/me quickly downloads eotw and zink before they're gone to become lost dmods

Don't delete them, it's part of Dink History. They might suck (I don't know) but there are lots of worse D-Mods out there, and people (like me) like to play a mediocre D-Mod sometimes. It's the bad D-Mods that make the good D-Mods look good, after all!

No, don't delete them. There would be more people (collectors) later on who would complain and stuff like that.

Hmm... Haven't played End of the World and Crossroads yet (me downloads them quickly), but Zink wasn't really bad for as far as I can remember. Ok, it wasn't stunning or anything but certainly not horrible, I think it is still a good contribution to the site.

(+ This file would lose it's meaning, now wouldn't that be sad? )

Daniel, there are clowns.
Hmm... haven't you already have a bunch of your mods removed?

All right, I guess I won't have them removed, but I don't think Zink is currently very functional with v. 1.08. Could somebody else test this?

Hey, I know the feeling. I did have mine removed though. =P

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Isn't there some obscure rule that says it is illegal to remove a dmod? If not, there should be!

I wouldn't go so far as to claim high cultural significance for all dmods, but consider it from the point of view of the Dinkiverse! It would be like Dink loses part of his entire history. Just leave them be. *Goes off to quickly download*

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
You shouldn't have removed them scratcher, I still remember playing a D-Mod called The Fairy Named Bincabbi (or something like that) ..

All too true. I never played The Dungeon before it was taken down, but The Fairy Named Bincabbi was (and still is, in fact) one of my favorite D-Mods.

Thanks, Ducklord. Another 'jewel' for my collection, I suppose!

cocomonkey, I'd like to thank you for posting this; evidently it inspires some people to share their favorite dmods (hint, hint!), so that gives me ideas of which ones to play

Yikes...cocomonkey and dinkatuer are confusing with the same avatars.

I want to play this "Fairy" D-mod.

Sincerely,

Ya know, i didn't think EOTW was that bad. It was bad, but not below a 6.0 for me... *DinkKiller thinks he should replay and review EOTW*

Where's the 'Fairy' dmod to be found?

The Dungeon... I seem to recall rather enjoying a module under that name, and thinking that more d-mod dungeons should have as much thought put into them. It was removed? Shame. Of course, I could be thinking of another module.

I'll never truly understand why people have older modules taken down, but I realise others may be coming from a different perspective.

Ducklord,

Would you still have the fairy named Bincabbi? This is truly removed; I can't find it anywhere and you've made me really curious!

I have a feeling that the Lost D-Mods Deity has just used the holy powers to help VaultDweller and dinkateur.

(If you want The Dungeon, though, I think you'd have to ask metatarasal or Christiaan.)

EDIT : Also, Arik, I don't know about other D-Mod authors, but I think scratcher had his mods taken down because he thought they weren't good enough. I also think he said he was working on a much better D-Mod, which is a mix of Bincabbi and another D-mod.

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
No, don't remove them. It's like when you're in the college and throw away all your primary schools notebooks, because you find them uselles. But when you get old, you'll whish you didn't only for the memories.
