A DMOD contest. I'm here only from June this year, so I don't know exactly what is a DMOD contest. I only read at CoE that it was at an Alternative Hero contest, with Lyna's Story and Quest for the golden nut.

It's basicly a special contest (so not a standard DOTY or DOTM award). Which usually has a theme. (like evil hero or alternative hero)
Then some DMOD authors should make a specific kind of DMOD in a short amount of time, and then is decided which DMOD is best.

Take note that 'deciding the best D-Mod' happens just like the DOTM/DOTY (voting) so there's no jury judging or so

Hmm, interesting idea.. I've thought of making a D-Mod with a limited number of screens in the past but 1 screen would make the challenge more fun Likely the D-Mod authors who like mapping more than scripting wouldn't participate but then, scripting's fun too

Wouldn't everyone make a weird DMOD if you had a one screen DMOD contest? Then it ends up being another weird DMOD contest.

But what about 'best christmas DMOD'?

But what about 'best christmas DMOD'?
I'd think everything this community has to offer in form of Christmas D-Mods is sort of used up (as for most of the other holidays as well).. but one screen sounds scarily good! Let's do that?

GlennGlenn doesn't want a custom title.
The problems with such D-Mods is that u need graphics, and for those who aren't that skilled at that area(like me) can it be hard to create own graphics for the christmas D-Mod, but I am for a D-Mod contest, its been a long time ago since we had one.

Hmm.So we're still trying to come up with ideas for a contest then?

Let's see,how about...

political dmod?
philosophical dmod?
religious dmod?
elemental dmod?
movie based dmod?
classic novel based dmod?
cartoon/comic based dmod?

EDIT:

Animal based dmod(like 'Attack of the Giant Platypus')

Fruit/Vegetable based dmod(like 'Killer Bananas from Outer Space')

Mayhaps that contest would be the one that would push that statement past figurative and into literative truth.

A d-mod, so powerful, that any matter that would come into contact with it, would be anhilated.

I'd suggest a "Make an innovative new spell" contest, as I already have one in the waiting... but I'm now senior staff (and I've already showed it off to a few people). Maybe we should just do that anyway.

For the Weird D-Mod contest, the prize was going to be any videogame RPG for any game system. But Paul won, and he said he couldn't think of another game that he wanted, so I ended up buying him a real, mini-sword.

A contest eh? Wait a second... I getting a strange felling.. It's my will to live, it's come back! I kind of lost it right about the time I realised my half finished 38965 line script was so riddled with bugs i could never compleat it sucesfully.

EWait a second, 38965 lines?? I have to find a different javascript counter. I would post the script here, but it would break the forum.

Its 46KB. It has to large parts which together make up about hal of it. They were copyed and pasted from each other and I changed the variable names. And I mean it when i say half finished. And thats half finished the crappy half arsed version with only 1 AI player. I gave up around the time I started the AI system. Haven't worked on it in about a fortnight.

Ok. Cool. Or as I should say; kool. Try to make it something with super hard to do and challenging script writing that pushes the limits of dinkc. But just dinkc please. Rory no like all krazyness with visual c ++. Rory takes 5 minuites to find "+" sign. Rory speak in third person.

Give an exact date of when you are going to announce what the challenge is going to be and don't randomly announce it so some people start sooner than others.

Thats good, i've got some exams coming up which I realy should work for as they determine things like what class I get put in to do my GCSE's. They're probably not all that important as when the teachers decide what class we get put in thaty also look at previous exams and such, but meh, I never have actually spent more than half an hour revision for any test (about sixteen secenods being the average amount of time I spend revising) so I think I should work for these.
