Preferred DMOD editor

What is everyone on here's preferred editor? It's probably been asked many times before but I am curios since i may start seriously developing a DMOD (I'm not asking which is better just your preferred and why ) Mines, Windinkedit plus since it's much easier to understand compared to Dinkedit and Dinkedit lags my computer for some reason?
i like wde+ but Sheveks editor is seriously worth a go - i like it heaps is a bit of a learning curve but its really good
I prefer to use a hex editor to individually change each byte in map.dat.
I use WDE+2. It's better than DinkEdit, but it has some problems. Occasionally it messes up all my hardness tiles for some reason (this always happens if I try to run the game at the same time I'm editing it). Make backups a lot - I do it once per day I spend working on my DMOD.
It's a problem with WDE+2, I just close the editor and reopen the map and it works fine. I don't think it messes up the hard.dat. However, it won't display the hardness tiles in the editor for some reason (I guess the graphics card overwrites the images it creates or something when you go fullscreen in Dink). Another solution is to test your DMOD in windowed mode instead of fullscreen, which will not cause the problem.
um yeah actually it does mess up the hardness - does do on mine - it shows random hardness where i never had any and used shapes i never use is a pain going over them again sigh
If it really does permanently mess up the hardness where you can't restart the program to fix it, then keep backups of the hard.dat handy (you really should backup your dmod now and then anyways, or it could go poof at the whim of an overstressed and under-payed hard drive). that way if your hard.dat gets corrupted you can just replace it with the backup copy.
permanently screws up hardness on a daily basis
Sounds great. O_O
and Dinkedit lags my computer for some reason?
Yep, I get that too on Windows 7 / 8. Freedinkedit doesn't have the same issue for me, and also fixes some bugs in the original editor. In all honesty, though, I'm not sure it would make sense to learn Dinkedit over Windinkedit in this time and age. Although I am quite glad I did back in the day.
Dinkedit, I choose you!

I just use WDE+ because that's what robj's tutorials told me to use.
Original DinkEdit.
Never liked anything else, frankly. WDE was great for deleting screens, but that's the only time I'd boot it up.

And I'm willing to say that stubborness of yours about DinkEdit is the reason CC3 never saw the light of day. WDE makes life so much easier.
Hehe, I'd have put it down to life commitments and moving on to other creative pursuits, but maybe you're right...

Actually, I know you'll have read that by now. Let's go back to ignoring you. <3
