and Dinkedit lags my computer for some reason?
Yep, I get that too on Windows 7 / 8. Freedinkedit doesn't have the same issue for me, and also fixes some bugs in the original editor. In all honesty, though, I'm not sure it would make sense to learn Dinkedit over Windinkedit in this time and age.
Although I am quite glad I did back in the day.
