I live in America, what happens in Australia is up to the Australians. I mean, would you like it if I signed a petition that would influence the country greatly, in a less than pleasant way, that caused only suffering and anger?
Besides, I doubt my signature would be of any help, as I have no idea who wants what in Australia, and until I actively go there and learn the culture, likely never will beyond second hand stories via the internet.

Now there's a fundamental difference between violent video games and rape. (I shall refer to the former as VVGs for the sake of time.)
Now, VVGs are games that are violent. Whether or not they make people violent are another argument. Rape is a heinous act of sexual violence that mentally and emotionally scars people, I should know, because there are a few people at my who who were raped.
Now, if there was indeed a petition to help stop rape in Africa, a petition wouldn't really do anything. Petitions don't stop illegal activities, it's people who stop illegal activities.
If I was given the political power to go to Africa, round up every rapist, and castrate them with a cigar cutter (for males) or render them unable to have sex without extreme pain (females) then I would do so.
As I cannot, and since I have no power over anything beyond making it known to the people around me that stuff like that was happening, I can do nothing, except spread the word.
Now, there are programs that teach women how to protect themselves from potential rapists, and I've read stories of how people stopped rapes, so there is something beyond police action being done.
Returning to games; games are simply virtual simulations of events. GTA is no exception. Sure, some people will not play it, but it's their personal desire. Whereas there are people who want to play it, and the same goes for them.
You and other people choosing to prevent people from making that choice, of making them incapable of obtaining said game except illegally, is morally wrong in my point of view.

The hallmark of human society is free will to do that which you desire, it is the decision of each person do decide what is right and wrong, and regardless of what other people say, some will have completely reversed moralities, or even moralities that seem strange to me and you. Take, for instance, Muslim communities versus American communities. By tradition in Muslim communities, women are seen as inferior and must hide all but their eyes. In typical American communities, women are seen as independent and can wear whatever they want. To some, one way is right and the other wrong. To others, the inverse is correct.

There's LA Noire from Rockstar as well. And while it does have shooting in it, the focus is on the story and investigation, not on the violence 
Rockstar had barely involvement with L.A Noire.

I'm glad that my advice can help out. One good program that I enjoy is RPG Maker. It's a program that allows you to create your own video games, though you're typically stuck with making an RPG game with a simple battle system, but you can create games that don't need battles, or you can set up the battle system to where you're 'arguing' or something. You can even change the game play through scripting so that you have an entirely different game.
I currently use RPG Maker VX Ace Lite, which is a free, but limited, version that is useful for learning how to use the program.

This is more of a matter of personal opinion. Yeah, games used to be a lot different, more unique. They were classics. Games have evolved over the years, become more complicated, have a lot of new bells and whistles. While certain old games are always fun to play even as much as 20 years later in some cases, if not more, what newer games can do is have a potentially more rich experience or much more complex game mechanics, far more in depth than anything from the old days. Someone like me enjoys something like that a lot more than something like old 16 bit games. But this is one person's opinion.
As for Grand Theft Auto, the series is known for being a little over the top, sometimes over the line. Personally, I don't dislike GTA in any way. GTA is a good series, that when the first game came around, brought something new to the table. Over the line in many cases, but it was new and unique, and it caught on quick, and became popular. But do I own GTA 5? No. Mainly because I have no money, but I also played a lot of GTA4 and I just got tired of it pretty quick. It's not really my type of game.

If life were fair, I would have experienced high school without being emotionally abused by my peers, would live in a family that had enough money so that we could live comfortably and not be screwed over by the gov't, both parents having jobs that they enjoy, and me not feeling the species dysphoria that is typical with Therianthropy.

Ahead of the times, Pred. Ahead of the times. Newton is one of the biggest blunders of Western history. He's credited with all kinds of things he did not discover or invent. This has to do with the heavy politics of science during his era, when every nation in Europe was vying to be "the best" at the sciences. (After the Enlightenment, science became the only avenue for "truth," and those who held the highest positions in science were therefore imbued with the authority over everything that was true or knowledgable. We're still dealing with this issue today.)
Ancient people knew about gravity long before Newton ever wrote anything about it. All Newton did was apply calculus to the phenomenon of gravity in order to describe and predict the behavior of falling/moving objects.
