New Files: Skorn Stuff
The infamous Skorn has made a handy reference map for Mystery Island, showing positions of secrets, routes to run around cameras and general tips.
Also a Ghost Castle tileset for, well, ghostly castles! The floor, at least.

I tried. I had confidence in my files. Striker is just being an arsehole.
Confidence comes from succeeding, and putting out sloppy, effortless work is not going to get you there. Notice that I gave your map a generous 1.0, since I'm sure that at least took you a bit more time than your tiles. Even ABCDEF,etc. and Bloop took more effort than what you've put out. So... considering how much time it would take someone to make your other file, are you sure you want me to review them?

Yea, even if you spend a lot of time on your work, but it turns out shoot, it's still shoot. Effort doesn't improve quality.
I really had no right commenting, I only commented to cheer em up. I have not really seen his work so i would not know...

Inverting Color is NOT effort. I've said it before and I'll say it again; GTFO Skorn.
You want to create a tileset using true effort? Then make something completely useful other than you pile of crap, using completely original color formations rather than copying and modifying default tiles.
As for the map file? I'm in agreement with Striker, its completely useless to everyone except for noobs who can't pass the Camera run, and I saw an 8 year old beat that.

Skorn, you're a bit of a mystery. If it takes you that much effort to create something why do you still do it? It's not like anyone is going to use your files.
And you seem highly emotional about your files too. If you don't want your files judged you just shouldn't release them. Or not release them on the dinknetwork, or anywhere else where people can comment on it for that matter.
I'm not going to give you any favorable reviews just because you whine about it. Reviews are supposed to be honest and open opinions about what the reviewer thought of the file. And that's exactly how my reviews are meant.

These files aren't the best out there, but I must admit, it's good step up from Skorn's old files (which were rightfully rejected).

I don't think the ghost floor was that bad. If you can't be bothered to make them, you can just download them. Sure, they were not too great, but I'm feeling you are just picking on him because he is Skorn.
In all, I would give them 3.0. points (the ghost tiles). Not too great, but can save a little time.

As you can see in my review I did like the mystery island map, but the ghost floor was useless, sorry Skron.

Honestly Skull, why would anyone do that? I'm criticizing Skorn because he doesn't behave and because his files aren't any useful. You should only upload files that you think somebody will make a good use of. Otherwise, don't upload them. Skorns Ghost floor was a typical example because it wasn't a complicated file and anyone can do it themselves in paint. However, if Skorn had included more tiles/sprites with the same pattern it would have been better OR if he had included a small tutorial how you could make it on your own in paint would have been good as well. Then the file had been more useful.

When you were new, Skull, you released a lot of crappy files and people got annoyed. But you got better, you started creating files with quality and suddenly no one was annoyed of you anymore.

I don't see nothing with these files why they would not be accepted. There are much more crappy files here in TDN that I wonder why they got accepted.

Everyone start of as a beginner, that doesn't mean that you should upload every file you make 'til you get experienced. You can still ask for help/advices.

I agree with Skull here. Skull used to release bad files but he wasn't told to get lost. Skorn should have recieved constructive criticism or been ignored all together.
After seeing these posts, you guys coming back to your senses and realizing that files take time to perfect; after seeing the positive reviews from iplaydink and ( um...that other guy ) i decided to return. Let's just hope that people dont tell me to duck off because im inferior to the experts.

We need to be advocating a cleaner, more perfect world. However, uploading some of the pathetic files may increase the likeliness of someone trying to make files again, so they'll get experience.
