It seems kinda empty to me, make use of tiles and sprites. There are rock tiles, flowers, mushrooms, bushes, grass, logs, all sorts of things that could fill up the screen (to an extent.) An empty map = boring. Detailed maps keep people in the game (along with plot and gameplay ). Try things like a rock sprite with a bit of grass around it or a cluster of mushrooms, these things really spice up your DMOD and if used right will keep the player interested and less confused. I say confused because if you have a lot of empty looking screens they tend to look the same and make it easy to get lost if your map is large.

Just be sure to make sure sprites are hard when they are supposed to and nohit when they aren't supposed to be hit. If you don't do that right, you could be stuck on a piece of grass, walk through trees, or a fireball exploding on a flower. Btw, don't forget about the ducks
