Though most of the games are based on fiction. But a lot of them also are based on real events or stories. For example games like Delta Force and Commanche are based on USA' crack teams.
Many of Microsoft's strategy games like Rise of Nations and Age of Mythology are also like AOE. Its pretty famous game for multiplayer as well.
