: Okay all you Dinkers... I'm in the final stages of Alpha of Pilgrim's Quest and thought I'd do a little market research about gameplay:

: Levelling up - hard or easy? I remember walking around forever in the original Dink to get money exp so I could get strong enough to battle slayers, then doing it again to battle stone giants. But do people like this?

: 1. Do you like fighting loads of monsters?

Sometimes. But I don't like HAVING to fight lots of monsters. Screenlock for example can be very annoying if overused.

On the topic of leveling up, gaining a level itself in Dink have apretty minor effect. In most d-mods it seems like finding bonuses makes a bigger difference than gaining levels. I think it would be cool to see a d-mod where gaining a level was really something to be happy about.

: 2. Do you like secrets with extra goodies that help in leveling up or not?

You mean like potions and gold hearts? Yeah, I think finding them is fun, but see the comment above.

: 3. Ummm... saying anything useful here about gameplay...

Let's see, uhh, In general, I prefer d-mods that aren't too hard. And you'es tend to a be a little on the hard side. (still great fun mind you, but a little harder than I like)

: 4. Oh, there are riddles in Pilgrim's Quest, and I can't take them out as they are part of the story progression... So for those that don't like riddles I guess you wont be playing

Nah, no problem with riddles. After all the worst that can happen is you have to ask someone the answer.
