For the record, I was replying to RangerLord's proposal, not to you specifically. The most prominent example I have of this sort of "going rogue" issue was indeed the Skyrim unofficial patch, though I've seen it to a lesser degree in other spaces. It's basically one person coming in with bug fixes who ends up deciding to count a number of things as bugs when they're clearly not.

For things like this particular bug fix, I think it's a non-issue.
