He made no attempt to deride your opinions that I can see, and in fact, he went out of his way to try to ensure that he didn't insult your beliefs. He said he respected your beliefs 100% and it was sad that others may view one's religious beliefs as arrogance. He was simply giving advice which he thought may have been useful to avoid any other disputes about religion. And I didn't respond to you because I believed that Tal couldn't defend himself, it's just if you recall he doesn't post or browse as often, so one might assume that he has no answer for this. I'm pretty sure he was in no way trying to insult you or assume he understood the beliefs of others, but rather trying to give some helpful advice.
