That's a reason I consider Dark Souls to be fake challenge.
I consider a truly difficult game something you can beat as many times as you want but still have trouble with every time.
Not in that game you can't. Went down the stairs instead of up? A dude with a shield one shots you and you can't block him. Go somewhere else. You're not powerful enough yet. If they're taking away 90% of your health in one blow, you're doing fiiiine.
From software needs to learn how to make good fights. How about some equal, but difficult fights? Not "lol, i just took more than half your live bar by hitting the ground next to you!"
