EDIT: Okay, I think I get what you're saying... though it's certainly a stretch of the definition. I think you're reading too much into an absurdist sketch and ascribing motivations to a character that likely hasn't been developed much beyond the fact that he over-pronounces foreign words.

If there was a word I would have used instead, it would be "pretentious".
