There is such a thing as satire, Pun. GTA: SA was a satire on that kind of gangster lifestyle, whilst having a fairly realistic portrayal, whilst being far enough away from reality that it was enjoyable to a lot of people. Let's compare and contrast with Saint's Row, which is more over the top and misanthropic. I mean, the fourth game has you become the president, rename the 'White House' to the 'White Crib', get attacked by aliens, get trapped in a simulation, get superpowers in said simulation, and use said simulation to overcome the aliens' security simply by ducking around a lot. (Plus, you know, you can romance every single character, regardless of gender.)
And yet, both games are enjoyable to me. GTA for its nice pacing and good storyline, and Saint's Row for its cathartic randomness.

Now, I've got a game that you'll like so much you'll leave us alone while you try to beat it many times. It's called Last Dream, it's an open-world RPG Maker game with a huge replayability value that can be compared to Final Fantasy 1. It's a labor of love and a very good game.
