Quiztis: I know a few people, and contrary to what some people would tell you it's got plenty of pre-orders (according to people I know in game retail). It certainly doesn't look as attractive a proposition as the PS4 at the moment, that's for sure, and Microsoft are going to have to make some concessions somewhere or they're going to get slaughtered in the marker. I won't be pre-ordering either, personally.

Skull: Look, you're making this into a rather silly argument. I'm not quite sure why you feel the need to start throwing jibes...

Is this "strawman" some new word you've learned, and now wish to share with everyone? Reminds me of my friend and "batcave". Besides, it's spelled "straw man".

... as I would have thought that was a relatively obvious typo. Nor am I sure why you feel the need to try and belittle me? A new word I've learned? Are you for real? A little less acid in your posts would be nice - I don't think it's a good look when I'm being perfectly reasonable, if contrary to popular opinion.

As for defending a gaming console to the death? I'm not. The Xbox One has plenty of big problems (price & DRM being the big hitters, but there are more) and I've acknowledged that. I'm saying it's idiotic to write it off as trash when it hasn't been released and we still have little idea of how well some of the tech works (which is actually very important and we definitely shouldn't "forget all that technological crap"). If Kinect 2 is as bad as Kinect, Microsoft are in heaps of trouble. If it works well? That's a big draw for a lot of people. Perhaps not many gamers, but Xbox One isn't designed to be a "pure" gaming console anymore anyway. I'm interested in that side of things on a tech level, if nothing else.

A lot of what you've seems to be based on vibes and assumptions about my feelings on the matter, and not what I've actually written. That's not a fair place to come from. I'm not going to take the time to address every single point you've made, because a lot of them are putting words in my mouth or simply aren't thought through. Information travels from person to person, yes, but chinese whispers leads to misinformation and misunderstanding. That was my point.

Anyway, this conversation would be much better turned to an actual discussion about the consoles themselves, rather than "you am fanboi no U am fanboi shudup" blithering. What new games are of interest? Personally, the Mirror's Edge reboot is really interesting. That game was sooo close to being good, but really needed some tweaks. Titan Falls looks like a better FPS than most and The Division looks absolutely beautiful. Pretty disappointed in the indie showing from MS, but Sony have looked promising here.

Oh, and you're right about fanboyism, I think. It's the norm to dislike the "competition" as a fanboy, but it's by no means the defining factor. So, yeah, you could be an Xbox fanboy and still like the other consoles. I agree.

Toasty: Nah, consoles are just for the convenience. A super powerful PC under the tv would be nice though...
