WinDinkEdit was good enough for 9 years, and it's still good enough.
It only works on Windows, which means I can't use it. That's enough reason for me to write a new editor (since dinkedit is not usable IMO).
Still, the point you didn't respond to, and which is totally true for me anyway: if I wouldn't write an editor, I would instead do something non-dink. I would not be writing dmods. So the alternative to all these non-dmod files is not lots of dmods. The alternative is fewer files.
