Just wanted to pop in and say that the idea of going from being her friend to her romantic interest is generally a bad idea.
Only be her friend if you would actually *want* to be her friend and be fine with only having that. The friend to romantic interest thing really only works if you happen to be really good-looking or charismatic and confident. If your desire for her supersedes any actual desire for friendship, being her friend is just useless hassle and a good way to emotionally torture yourself.
