I don't hate you, Pred but I know that Americans aren't all evil, so I'm trying to encourage you to see that. Thing is, I used to be anti-American too, but then I got to know some Americans. True, most Americans are arrogant, but that's not always the case.
Regarding the American sadistic humour, I believe this stems from a progressive degeneration of originality seen right across the world - read Mark Twain's writings, for example. They are funny (In my opinion). But most American comedies these days use "mass-produced" humour that consists predominantly of excessive exaggeration and bucket-loads of sadism. I don't find this cheap rubbish entertaining, usually.
I can confidently say that the next generation (following Gen. Y) will be so used to equating sadism with comedy that they'll actually be brainwashed (for want of a better word) into thinking that harming others is funny; we see this taking place already - vandalism, bullying, violence and assaults are on the rise. I believe sadism promoted by popular media is a major influence on these trends.
