An hero.
What's this now? First you post an exact similar thread to this, then change it to "nevermind". Then you post another one, with the exception of a sad face in the end.
Um. So ... what exactly are you saying? You're making me nervous here.
I've had my fair share of depression in this life. I've managed to pull it through. There's good days, there's bad days. Talking helped me. You should probably try it too. Talk to your parents. If they won't listen, try to talk to your friends or someone. If they won't listen, we're always here to listen.
First, that's not the right attitude. Take the attitude of, I don't know, "I could win in lottery tomorrow so suicide would be stupid". Really, live your life to the fullest, then in the end you can say "I did all I could, no matter how little it was and how much it paid off". Those who commit a suicide, do not leave this world that way, instead they leave it sad and in pain. Besides, suicide will only cause pain and suffering to those who care about you. Such as people on this site.
We'll help you, but you'll have to let us help you and leave such thoughts.
We'll help you, but you'll have to let us help you and leave such thoughts.
Because that's just how we are. We'll have to intervene in others people's lives. We're so annoying.
I told ya. Don't take that attitude, that only guarantees it won't. If you talk now, it's possible that already tomorrow you can think of "dang! Why did I ever say those things about suicide?". Trust me, I thought I'd never get over my mother's death. It still stings badly from time to time, but time heals all wounds, as they say.
The thing is, your mother wasn't dead your whole life, and you just found out about it recently.
If you want people around here to help you, you'll have to explain what's on your mind throughoutly. Not in dramatic, not in any kind of weird way. Just say it straight. I know I'm not the best guy to say that, but hey, I have been able to do it.
On the off-chance this is an honest thread, an honest response:
Go do something. Anything, just go out and wander around aimlessly feeling stupid if you can't think of anything else. But if you are feeling depressed staying at home and typing on the computer, chances are you're just going to feel more depressed for staying at home even more and typing on the computer even more.
Emotional support from strangers on the internet... It's pretty hollow, to say the least.

I would say that talking on the Internet is much better, than wandering on the streets at (possibly) nighttime, in a very emotionally disturbed set of mind. Well, at least around here. You'd get robbed/shot/both in an instant.
Kerrek, what's something you like to do? Making graphics, for example. It could be that or anything else that comes to mind. Tell us what it's like and what you enjoy about it.
Dude, it gets better. Use the pain you have to try to change what you don't like about your life. If you can't do that right now, just keep enduring till you're old enough to get the hell out of your situation and do what you want.
Definitely stay open a bit to people who do try to be nice to you. Some friends I made over the internet helped me out a lot when I was younger, once I got a sense of which people were genuine and which were just ducktards.

I don't enjoy it. I've given up on graphics making.
I like doing things that I can't do any more.
I like doing things that I can't do any more.
What things? And why are you not able to do them?
I like doing things that I can't do any more.
Well, for our information, tell us about them anyway.
Also, what Striker said.

I've already became an attention whore, just don't bother.
As I said, if you want help... if you want your life to get better, which you very much seem to want here, then tell us EVERYTHING that makes you wanna consider suicide, so we can help you to get your life back on track.
You can't get out of it that easily. Sometimes a guy needs some attention. So now you're getting it. So answer our question already.

Well.. I guess no attention's how i got into this in the first place.
Well.. I mean basically interact with anyone online or steam, every time I try it "couldn't find ______.bsp blah blah blah, disconnecting"
I know that's just a minor part, but it's so annoying. It happens on literally every server and I can't join.

Not trying to set something off I'm just saying -Richard Bach : "Anyone desperate enough for suicide...should be desperate enough to go to creative extremes to solve problems: elope at midnight, stow away on the boat to New Zealand and start over, do what they always wanted to do but were afraid to try.". Msdink could hook you up .
nah bro, come to raro! tropical island paradice dude! the chicks arent half bad either
Well.. I guess no attention's how i got into this in the first place.
See? That's better.
Yeah, those Steam errors would be annoying, especially on top of everything else. Just one more thing that doesn't work. BUT. There are some things that are working. For example, you're talking to us now on the DN forum. And you know what? We like you. Maybe it doesn't make sense to you, but we do anyway. Now, Scratcher's right to a certain degree. The Internet is kind of limiting when it comes to connecting with people, so you shouldn't expect it to completely make you happy. But it can work as a starting point, like the way it helped Striker.
And by the way, suicide isn't heroic. Heroic is the kind of thing Mrgantoe quoted, where you have the courage to try positive, risky things to make something good out of the situation you've been given. If you can do that, life can get better, and its possibilities open up before you. If you give up, all those possibilities are gone, and the only thing you open up is wounds in the people who care about you.

Kerick I believe this is your cry for help because males usually just do this - not discuss it first, so can I borrow your ear for a bit please in the spirit that you are serious.
I agree with the get out and walk, - but that is also one of the signs of depression - walking for hours. If you are depressed and I think you are,as part of what you may need, short term medication can also help get your thoughts on a different path, you start to see the joy in things again. Hang in there nothing and I mean NOTHING is worth taking your own life for ok
Can I be the tough one here - suicide is the most selfish act ever, its not easy - I understand that, but you take yourself out and there are so many people whose lives are effected forever, always wondering why - why didnt they see it - why weren't they able to help prevent it. Your actions also effect others lives forever, it will change people (and I know this because I have attended many many suicides)those left behind will never be the same again and carry guilt till the end of their lives, some will also kill themselves as well because they can't deal with missing the signs for helping you and cannot live with the guilt.
You need to give these people in your life a chance to try to help. Talk to your parents - tell them you feel like ending it, if you can't then talk to the guidance counsellor at school, turn up at your local hospital and tell them how you feel, they have people that can help and will support you to talk to your parents if you cant do it alone. You can also talk to your friends but I really dont believe they know what to do with that information and you are better off talking to someone older.
Kerreck TELL someone around you how you feel, open up and tell them the reasons there is light out the other side of the tunnel. Suicide is a long term solution to a short term problem. Take a chance and trust one person ok, Please! Its nice to talk to people on here but you also need to talk to people in your life because no matter what you think - you are loved ok ... now go and talk to someone!

msdink is totally right man, listen to her, suicide is NEVER, i repeat NEVER the answer. WE certainly dont want you leave us!
dinkulum, an hero is a meme... it really has nothing to do with heroism, which is you know, part of the joke for the phrase.

Dear Kerrek,
you wonder why we care? It is because Dink Smallwood is for the people. This network has always been for the people, which is why it is so addictive. It tends to attract people who understand the difficulties others are going through, because most of us have been through similar difficulties in one way or another.
When I'm feeling down I run. Slowly, long distance. I find that running can really help you understand... the whole activity is like a live-in metaphor for life. And when your' lungs and legs feel like they're burning up and you keep on going, once you finish and plop down on the couch and gulp down a litre of water you feel rather victorious. I recommend it strongly. Suppose you're weak and flabby - well, I'm not the lean, mean running machine I was 3 years ago, but the thing is that when you're young and determined, you will get there.
Finally, I would leave you with this thought: When we are conceived, we come from nothing - a sperm and an ovary - When we die, we return to nothing - fertiliser for the lemon tree - But in between these states we have the opportunity to become everything!
Seize the day, Kerrek.

I like long walks in the forest but I do them quietly like some ones following me or I'm hunting I find it thrilling.
To Kerrek:
Do something you're good at, or talk to your friends, or keep a diary to write your thoughts in, or best, draw something. When I was really depressed two years back, I drew a character Eric the Vampire. I made some comic books about him and I become delirously happy whenever I look at them. Heres a picture of the cover of the first book: the picture above the headings. the guy holding the devil's fork thingy: www.whenyourevil.weebly.com

This can be taken as an indication that we are driving our children mad more effectively than we are genuinely educating them. Perhaps it is our way of educating them that is driving them mad."

I don't hate you, Pred but I know that Americans aren't all evil, so I'm trying to encourage you to see that. Thing is, I used to be anti-American too, but then I got to know some Americans. True, most Americans are arrogant, but that's not always the case.
Regarding the American sadistic humour, I believe this stems from a progressive degeneration of originality seen right across the world - read Mark Twain's writings, for example. They are funny (In my opinion). But most American comedies these days use "mass-produced" humour that consists predominantly of excessive exaggeration and bucket-loads of sadism. I don't find this cheap rubbish entertaining, usually.
I can confidently say that the next generation (following Gen. Y) will be so used to equating sadism with comedy that they'll actually be brainwashed (for want of a better word) into thinking that harming others is funny; we see this taking place already - vandalism, bullying, violence and assaults are on the rise. I believe sadism promoted by popular media is a major influence on these trends.

Kerrek, skipping all of the crap below your first post, I want you to know that I don't want anyone to kill themselves because they are depressed or has had something bad happen to them. Just know that if you do go through it, nobody will think of you as a hero (As the meme points out) or remember the good things about you. They will see you as a wimp for ending your life, for not going through life they way you do. If you decide not to kill yourself and give life another chance, then live it to the fullest, if someone insults you, don't let it bother you. Know that if you sever the thread of life, you can never connect it again, that you will never know another smile or taste another cookie or kiss a girl you love. Once it's over, it's over.
