Well, it depends upon the society you live in and their unwritten codes of ethics. Mind you I met with some people yesterday that I had not seen for a number of years and one of them didn't recognise me. His partner, who turned up later, did... and then he said... "Ah Simon, I didn't recognise you, it's been a long time. You've matured." My reply was... "Well, I've certainly gotten older" (IE there is grey in my beard now). I think most people associate maturity with quietness - both vocally and in motion. Just my 2 cents worth.
