Hey, Rob. You forgot the rock in screen 535. When you blow it up, you'll get a gold heart. 
The "tree year old" tree is Martridge. They both even have green text when talking.
This is, because Martridge wants to teach Dink, that even the strongest fireball, can't burn all trees. So he leaves his cabin, then he transforms into a tree and when Dink tries to burn him with a fireball, he just laughs.
Now, for the other tree... Dink probably has just been smoking some dangerous stuff.
