Frame rate in WDE
WinDinkedit
Is it just me or is the framerate in v. 1.2 realy bad? I have to wait 3-4 seconds just to set a sprite down. Only neverwinter nights gave me that choppy a movement.
Odd....Mind listing some of your PC specs? And would you mind testing the new 1.3 version I was working on?

P3, 700 mhz, win 98, directx 8.1, graphics driver is intel 82810e. (compaq)
as mentioned, NWN gave me a bad frame rate too. I has been a while since I did a restore, but what could cause that? And yes, I'd be glad to test v1.3 if you think this system is good for it.

Odd. You may try updating to DirectX 9 (it runs like 6 times faster), but no one else has reported slowdowns with 1.2...13. is in the mail.
I just tried to send you the latest beta of WDE and it says your e-mail is fake (the one on your dink network account). Did you know we can kill people's account with invalid e-mails? Fix that will ya?

Thats' old. Sorry. I switched to telus adsl. (pamric@telus.net) And I tried directx9 and a couple of video drivers with no improvement. I also have the startup config pretty lean, so not much is running in background. But I wouldn't be suprized if I buggered up some settings as I install/uninstall way too many things. I'd still be happy to beta 1.3 if you'd like.

You can do nothing...
The videocard you have is on-board, thats why some heavy 3d games are slow, maybe thats why WDE is slow too, because intel has crappy ob video..

But.......
This morning it works almost perfect! I used to say my computer is possessed.Hmmm...
I just don't understand this.

if you have you computer running for a extended period of time it could be that your ram is full of crap. try rebooting. Let me show you why WDE runs slow.
WDE's primary function is to store all the graphics in the video memory (since it's hella fast), if you video ram is full, it will try to optimize it a bit, if that fails, it will go to regular system memory (slow as hell). In a worst case, if you system memory is also full, Vram will be used (basically HD space), and windows will store it whatever way it wants.
The speed of the video cards matters, but not too much. It's how much ram you have on it. (same with all games). truth be told, if you have a 1.3 GHZ processor, if your videocard is faster than 100MHZ, you probably wont notice much of a diffrence between it and a 100MHZ card, it's all about memory.

Depends on your amount of ram, processor speed, and OS.

128mb Ram. 700 mhz. win98. Vcache min and max at 32768 made no change. I just build and edit the mod till it gets slow then save, close, and reopen. So far so good. In a while I'll do a restore. Mabey that will help. Doing o.k. as is though. Thanks

with those stats windows will up your VRam automatically. You need more ram (at least 256).
