MIDI problem on new comp
I recently got a new computer about a week ago and installed Dink. When I started playing a DMOD (Mystery Island) I noticed that some of the instruments of the MIDIs were not playing. For the most part, the only parts of the MIDI that were playing were drums. How can I fix it so it will play all the instruments of the MIDI?
Ah, midi... always different on different cards. I'm not sure there's much you can do other than find out how to manipulate the midi emulators on your computer.
Incidentally, I sort of broke my onboard sound, so this gives me an excuse to get an Audigy 2 or something and install some of the few good general midi soundfonts I used to use.

I once had similar MIDI problems on a computer that had plain wrong soundcard drivers installed... See if you can find a driver or driver update for your card, or go for a specific driver if it seems that you had a "general" driver (Realtek/AC97 cards have this I think).
I checked and it uses Realtek High Definition. I tried googling it and found an update from the Realtek site, but it didn't want to finish installing so that didn't work. Is there any good driver I can install in place of it so the MIDIs will play properly?
Maybe it's your computer. What kind did you get?
Maybe you could use alternative MIDI synth software instead of the default MS GS Wavetable thingy, like Timidity++ and WinGroove.
It's an HP. Thanks Davince. I'm leaving for 2 weeks but I'll try something when I get back
