Is Dink Smallwood 2 ever to be released?
No, I don't think so. But RTsoft are currently developing a new PRG based on the novashell engine. They say it will be like dink but "better".

I think I read somewhere that Seth said that there are no plans for Dink 2, but he would appear in some of his future games. But as stated, NovaShell is going to be the next Dink-like game/editor.
It's just a little followup to the original game, but not an entire new game engine.
Windemere (an unofficial Dink sequel) was abandoned, the source file are available right on TDN. Other than that, there has been no other project trying to be a sequel, I think (other than the countless Dmods).
