New DMOD
I have uploaded my first real adventure. It was a lot of fun learning to use the graphics editors and Dink C. I certainly don't know all about them, but am able to carve out a niche.
There is a finite number of things an author can do with an adventure; navigate the terrain, kill things, and collect things. The major difference being the story line. I tried to put enough new situations and humor in Picnic Perils to make it interesting.
I invite your criticism of the DMOD. If and when I attempt another, I will take your comments into consideration.
As I learned the intricities of the tools, I began to feel competent enough to build my own skeleton. Most of it was like picking from a buffet - taking a little of this and a little of that from existing work. But some of it is specific to my personal preferences. It will make any future work faster and easier.
Thanks to all those that allowed me to study their source code, and those that wrote the tutorials. It took several runs down the hill for me to become airborne. But once I did, I became euphoric in the soaring.
