After I run the intro... I am able to load and arm fireball magic fine, but the magic meter doesn't fill up... why is this? (my magic level is 2, so this shouldn't be a problem.)

Also, I have to be gone from Friday until Monday, so I will be unable to enter my D-Mod in the contest...

and I worked hard to orient it to the theme also.
(note: I may release it sooner, but expect it to be really buggy.)

Perhaps you should post your the code for the fireball spell, as I certainly can't think of reason why it would do that.

EDIT: Hmm... what's the magic cost? Are all the global variables that the game requires loaded? That's all I can think of at the moment.

I did not mess with the fireball spell... I pulled it from the source code. I will try getting another copy of the script and see if that solves my problems.

I don't know why, but Dink is super powerful- he takes damage from enemies, but doesn't lose any life... he cannot get gold... magic doesn't work... and he cannot get any xp. Basically all of the globals are refusing to work... They are all present... they just don't do anything.

EDIT: I have decided to still enter the D-Mod into the contest as it is... It is still winnable, and I promise to update it and add more scripts/secrets/places to explore, after the contest.

I've had this problem before. You need to make sure &update_status is set to 1, like so -

&update_status = 1;

in the intro/start1, so your stats will work.

Yay!! Thank you so much Arik... I was confonded trying to figure this one out... but now the dmod works. If all goes right I will release it tommorrow... or perhaps Monday if things go badly.... (I will be gone all weekend... sorry, not my choice). Perhaps I can get some sort of belated prize or something.... because I really worked to try and gear this to the contest, and it would be real shame if I were to miss the deadline by a day because I had to leave for a trip.
