i think, any kind of music that can be tied with an emotion to fit a certain scene. i personally like orchestrations, they seem to work best

Whatever suits the moment, duh.

I always choose my music very carefully so it fits well in the dmod.
EDIT: Oh, poppy Britney Spears crap: NEVA!!

Well, The Reason I posted this is because, I did put music where they fit best but... Some people like other genre's of music. And would want to hear an Orchestra in a d-mod.
--
In my opinion Orchestras are great.
--
I made a midi pack and some people were disapointed some were suprized. ------

i for one was disappointed, but i listened to them on my mom's new computer, where everything sounds dramatically different from mine. i have yet to listen to them on my piece of crap computer. i may or may not review it then. if you're making new midis, be sure to keep in mind that they will sound different on newer vs, older computers, i suggest testing on both to find out which instuments would sound best

Just think about some moods which the game can have and determine your genre from there.

I mean, I wouldn't want to have rock at a sad moment, more like an orchestra in minor.

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
My Dink screen tends to flicker when I run certain music in Winamp while playing the game..

I don't think anyone should play dmods without music... Music is usually one of the biggest aspects of a dmod and games in genereal.

True, when playing D-Mods one should have the music on. But my screen also flickers with Winamp when working in DinkEdit.exe

I object
I played a DMOD (my own) once with Windows Media player on. With the song paused and DMOD music enabled. But when I quited the DMOD the whole SOUND map was corrupted. So I became very cautious of using a mediaplayer while playing a dmod.
