OK, in the walkthroughs I have read, says I can press "S" key and get all kinds of info, like screen #, etc. All I get is my current and full hit points. How do I get the key to do all these supposed funky stuff??

If you want that kind of info try ALT-D.

I think you need Ted Shute's LOT Modification applied for pressing "S" to do that.
