Accessing secrets on iPhone
Dinky Dimensions 1: FIAT

I recently refound Dink after playing many years ago and am making my way through some of the top D-Mods on my phone. It’s been a lot of fun and I haven’t had too many troubles figuring out the controls so far. Does anyone know if it’s possible to play any of the secrets in FIAT or how to access them on a phone? There’s a keyboard option but keys like the F-keys and print screen aren’t available on iPhone. If not, that’s okay- I’ll just carry on without them. Thanks!

Hmm. Well it looks like the A button for the axe switch doesn’t work on the phone either. When I pull up the keyboard option and hit A, it only ever says “throw mode” which means I can’t chop down the tree. This mod will be a DNF from the phone which is a bummer because it was fun while it lasted!
Not that familiar with any of the phone versions myself... I only played around a bit with the android version, but haven't finished any DMOD in it yet.
I think the android version has not been updated in a few years, and probably the iPhone version too... Maybe Seth could make it so you can have some virtual on-screen buttons that you can map to custom keys that might be used by the DMODs? But that would take a while.
By the way, a bit unrelated, if you somehow have a Steam Deck, DinkHD actually works quite well on that. You can even play other DMODs by passing them using the "-game <path>" launch argument. Maybe I should make a short guide on how to do that if anyone's interested?

It could be a similar problem I had with key presses in Pilgrim's Quest - it seems key presses on iPhone would happen happen twice with one press, although that may not account for what you're experiencing. In PQ it was the F key which was a "toggle" key press, one press and Frog mode was activated, next press it was de-activated, so with the one press being read as two by the iPhone version of the engine Frog mode was activated and de-activated each time.
Robj wrote some clever code to get around this for me.

Oh! That sounds like it may be the case, the button works but it doesn’t- something happens when I press A but it’s not the right thing! A “double tap” would make a lot of sense.
I’ve played both Pilgrims Quest and Stone of Balance successfully from my phone and I appreciate the effort you put into making them accessible for the phone app! Thinking about doing a post of successful vs non-successful mods on the iPhone. Playing this far in to not be able to complete the game is sort of a bummer.
It would also be handy to note tips/tricks. Some things took me a second to figure out. Good examples- I had to do a little button mashing to figure out the attack button worked as the “ctrl” key for entering letters for your riddles and for some unbeknownst reason I can only get the sound to work with headphones in with any game.
At any rate, if someone fixes this I’ll finish out the game, for now- on to Legend of Tejin! Thanks y’all!

i remember dinkhd working quite well on steam deck, actually, once you had the right proton version checked. and that was before seth came by and rendered freedink useless, maybe?
haven't tried in a while, though.

I think there was some attempt at getting Dink on PS Vita?... Check this thread out: https://www.dinknetwork.com/forum.cgi?MID=207184
Edit1: Oh, there were more recent updates too! https://wololo.net/2023/05/01/ps-vita-release-rtdink-1-3-0-dink-smallwood-ps-vita-port/
Edit2: Aw dang, NabsiYa's github is gone
Edit3: Wait nevermind, he just moved it here! https://github.com/Nyabsi/RTDink/releases
