I feel like a noob :P
I dug up the CD from somewhere, and started to play Dink Smallwood. I hardly remember anything since last time I played it was a different century, haha!
I really loved it: music, humour, the different characters, and all...
Unfortunately I didn't get very far... my rescue attempt (blue guy) got me killed... And since I never saw that save game thingie, I had to start over.
Now I feel like a noob, lool.
And it's strange, but in some sort of way it feels nice to be able to play a game that you know and love, but don't know at the same time, so you can enjoy it all over again.
Oh, and so weird, when the interaction with the wizard was over, and he ran around in circles before disappearing, I saw the script in my mind's eye. So perhaps not really a noob after all, haha.

are you playing some ancient version from a cd
is it 1.02
is it 1.02
I don't see a version anywhere. The ReadMe says 'DINK SMALLWOOD(tm) Apr 21st, 1998'.
It only mentions that it's the full version.
It's from 'Best Buys' and 'Iridon Interactive AB and RTsoft, Inc.' and 'Licence & Distributed for the Benelux by PMR International VB' www.pmr.nl (site doesn't exist anymore).
BTW: it says it's for 'Windows 95' and that 'Pentium 166 Hz' is recommended - sweet.

It doesn't say v1.05 (or whatever) on the title screen?
The earliest version of Dink I've seen was 1.01, which was a limited demo. If you actually have a version between 1.01 and 1.05, that would actually be pretty cool to see, because it could have some noteworthy differences compared to later versions of Dink.

Ah, yes I found it. On the titlescreen indeed. It's 1.04. So that's a rare version, I understand? Would it make sense to zip it up and upload it so everybody can have a look at it?
