Well 9 of your favourite games. Maybe 9 is too much. It doesn't necessarily have to be nine, but nine squares, when put together, also make a square

Hmmm. Well I don't have a lot of favorite games, but I'd include all those that use SCUMM.

However, I was distressed to see that some cover art was missing from your square of 3x3. Here [My Favorite] is one I'd be sure to include (if I had 8 others I cared this much about).

Heh I'd certainly include Dink Smallwood there, but I thought I'd give 9 other games the spotlight this time. Dink is definitely a favourite. I keep coming back to it and the dmods and it also played a big part in my childhood so it wouldve been highly improbable for it to not be a favourite!

why isn't it tales of symphonia 9 times?

For me it is hard to define whether favourite means: most enjoyable to play and replay or most admired and memorable

Another thought I had based on a few things Skurn has said was about the community and hope for the future. The last couple of years I have been getting back into AoE2 and watching a bunch of streamed video content about games and competitions. For a 20 year old game it still has quite a vibrant community and active players are still higher than the newly released AoE4. I think older games have more to offer than just nostalgia. The limitations of the past create a pressure for good, simple mechanics and storytelling. I suppose one main limit for Dink is that the barrier to entry for developing content and that a slightly older crowd is more time poor.
