The Dink Network

Help, please! I have Dink in Castle, upstairs, where he hears the "tehehe", and Alyssa is with him. However, whether she is in pack or in hand or talking to me out of pack, Monkeynuts is not appearing. What am I doing wrong or not doing right?

Yes, it is the walkthru that I am following and it says (and I'm quoting), "If you have Alessa with you she can cause Monkeynuts (the fairy with the disembodied laugh upstairs)to appear." Then the walkthru goes on to give a very long description of what will happen after Monkeynuts appears. But, though I've repeated the sequence a number of times, Monkeynuts has not appeared.

I think I've had this happen and I didn't really care all that much because the quest doesn't give you anything or something.

Or I just didn't care because I just didn't.

Or maybe I thought I just had to progress further?

Try progressing or something.

Try to talk with the "tehehe". Or if this isn't working, just walk around pressing spacebar.

The trouble with trying to progress is that the next part of the DMod doesn't appear, and I guess that's because I haven't done the part with the Teeheehee. I hate to skip two parts of the DMod and who knows how much else it will mess up.

I will try walking around pressing the space bar when I go on tonight to play. By the way, thanks everyone for your suggestions. All assistance is greatly appreciated.

The teehee shit is optional. What's the last thing you did?

I've been following the walkthru pretty strictly so the last thing I did before going into the castle was blew up a bomb to open up the doorway. Then I got the money from the chest and killed a bunch of things as I made my way through the castle and then up the stairs to the tehehe. When monkeynuts didn't appear no matter what I did, I just decided to go on and walk out the back of the castle because the walkthru said that there'd be a man out there for me to talk to. However, there was no man, and that's as far as I've gone.

Success!! I loaded the game from before I had bombed to open the doorway, went in with Alyssa in hand and hit the talk button as soon as I got to the top of the staircase, before I did anything else at all. Alyssa came out and Dink asked her a question which had never shown up before. A cut scene played and monkeynuts appeared. Everything went smoothly after that and Dink is now leaving the castle by the back door. Thanks once more for all the assistance.
