64-bit question
GNU FreeDink
This might sound a bit silly, but what is actually the difference between freedink64 and freedink? I guess one is the 64 bit version and the other the 32 bit, but given a 64 bit operating system (which I have) is there any advantage of the 64 bit version over the 32 bit one?
32-bit executables rely on a whole stack of compatibility layers that will eventually disappear or work "less optimally". Even if that shouldn't happen tomorrow, by producing a 64-bit executable we make sure we're future-proof
There should also be a slight performance improvement but nothing to brag about out loud.
