FreeDink 64bit - testers needed
Hey,
I'm experimenting with a 64bit version of FreeDink, which should help with compatibility on recent windows
To install it, just download it and replace your dink.exe with it:
beuc.net/tmp/freedink64/freedink.exe
Same for Dinkedit if you feel nostalgia
beuc.net/tmp/freedink64/freedinkedit.exe
Is it working for you?

Works fine for me! Windows 7 64bit.
Tried it quickly, just started a game and moved around a bit in windowed and full-screen.
But then normal 1.08 and Aural+ also work fine so not sure if it's much help...

Works fine, windowed and fullscreen without any problems on Win8.1 64bit.
Thanks for your tests guys!
Looks like 64bit builds are now operational

Both work fine for me on 64bit Windows 8. Regular 108 doesn't run well on this system at all, so Fred certainly got that one trumped.
Barely related rant: FreeDink also feels a lot more dependable to me than DinkHD (and many other old game remakes such as the Secret of Monkey Island), somehow. Those work fine on modern systems NOW, but I predict that in 5 to 10 years, you'll have compatibility hell far worse than with any DOS program trying to get those things to run.
