move() problems...
hmmm... im trying to create a script in which dink moves off screen for a moment, then comes back on screen in a completely different place. my problem is that when dink arrives at the edge of the screen, the screen scrolls, and the script dies...
ideally what i want is for dink to behave like a NPC does (when moving). we could allways change him back tot eh main char after the script has finished, which may well be off the screen anyway, so we dont have to worry about making the transition LOOK good...
i haven't done any scripting for ages, and i never realised how rusty i have become.. im looking up the annoted dinkC every 5 seconds or so...
so yeah, an anyone suggest a template script for this??
thanks.
I guess Simon is going for the little actual verbal skills approach, but yes, simply put in dink_can_walk_off_screen(1);
Then for having him come back in a different spot, just use sp_>
1, __); and sp_y(1, __);

wow... this is ANCIENT!! shoot... this was posted on my birthday! July 17th... oh well, that was 5 years ago anyway, who cares.
If there's one thing that irritates me, moreso than most other things, it's bloody gravediggers/bumpers. You add no constructive criticism or discussion, and you do it merely for the 'hai guyz, I bumped an old post, lulz' which we have all seen innumerable times before. Don't do it again.
