Yeah, the chat client has an outdated security certificate. A bit of a bummer that it has this really... If you want to use the web chat you can use Freenode webchat to get connected to freenode. You can then join the Dinkchat by joining #dinksmallwood (just type: /join #dinksmallwood).

Maybe your parents will unblock one of these if you ask them and explain what it's for.
Especially with the vast assortment of creeps on the DN.
What kind of a blocker are they using? Can you open it up and does it ask for a password to turn it off, or something? I may be able to help you to take the block down if you tell me. 
EDIT: Oh, I forgot. This may only work if your parents have their own users on the PC. And even then the chances aren't certain.

I'm sorry for you being blocked. Maybe you can open whatever blocking program they use and disable it? If it asks for a password, delete the whole dang thing.

Tell them something important is on the window they blocked and they should unblock that for a while and then when they disable it for a short while DELETE everything of it, except for the shortcut.

Okay, so listen very closely bud. What you gotta do is go to www.k9webprotection.com. Click on theInstant Support link and type "forgotten password" in the search bar at the website. There you should be able to set a new password for k9 without knowing your previous one.

It unblocks every site that there is blocked!! if you go to control panel and go on add or remove programes you should be able to remove it completely

Is there any website apart from the DN that isn't blocked?
Websites that don't include picture sharing, videos, search engines, and any way to chat.
Why dont you tell some one of your friends to download it, and then email it to you.

It's an IM program that lets you log in to multiple services at once (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, etc.), and it also does IRC.
Can't install it 'cause I don't have GTK+ Runtime and I can't install it from the offline installer because the website is blocked.

Chat is almost empty most of the time anyway, i think the forum is more active than the chat.
Not with that awesome chat meet fail that's coming up soon^.
Also it's more active than when I got here a few months ago. But yeah, a lot of the time it's kinda dead.

Dinkulum. It's not only disappointing, but he really IS getting a little too old for that kinda parenting. Not only is it sort of "wrong" from his parents, it's also overprotective, weird and even disturbing. If they blocked almost all the sites to prevent communication, it's sorta stupid thing to do, but I can still understand that. However, if they block all the sites just cause they're afraid that he'll watch porn, that is probably the stupidest thing I've heard in the last half a decade. About all the kids know most about porn/sex/whateverthehell before first grade. Then again, maybe it's off better of Kerrek. At least he won't make some uneraseable mistakes like some.

You should really have an open conversation with your parents. Preferably the one who you believe will be more understanding. I'd assume it would be your father in this case. Or... if that doesn't work, use a chainsaw.

No, really. I know two guys who can scientifically prove what chainsaws were designed for and how to use them. MsDink, I do realize protection is good. However, overprotection is not. There are three possibilities that will happen: Kerrek's parents will never let him go, Kerrek becomes dependant on his parents, Kerrek will have no idea about what life really is like if his parents keep him under their wings until he's an adult.
