You could always use something like a external hardrive or a usb, it is alot easier.

Did the dmod come in a '.dmod' file? If so, put that on the CD and copy it over to your other computer and open it. If not, then you will have to explain further.

Someone should create a D-Mod with only one dot in front of it. It would then pwn the living shoot out of His Ancestor.

Are you using version 1.08 of Dink Smallwood, or another version? (You can see the version number on the bottom of the title screen when playing Dink)

As Fireball said, it would be easiest to just copy the .dmod file to a CD (the dmod that you downloaded should be a file called "ancestor.dmod"), then copy it to your own computer, and double-click the .dmod file. If you have Dink Smallwood v1.08 installed on your own computer, the dmod should install by itself.

If you've already extracted the dmod on a CD, though, you need to copy the "ancestor" folder, and move it to the same folder where Dink Smallwood is installed. After that, the dmod should appear on the dmod list in DFArc.

You probably shouldn't have started a file discussion thread about His Ancestor if you weren't referring to it. Oh and... calm down?

Tag - Umm.. tag, you're it?
I wonder if installing the original game to a cd and then adding/installing the dmods to the cd as well would work for you since you cant install on a computer - because you need the original game for the addons to work - err that's why they're called addons maybe? - May not work - but pfftt - be worth trying this to save your spleen from bursting

You need the main game to be able to play D-Mods. If you don't have it, and you can't install anything, you're kinda screwed

Although I think FreeDink (an alternative version of the main game engine) might be able to be played from a memory stick or even a CD, not sure. Worth a try.

Edit: Oh wait - this computer meaning your dad's? But you want to play on yours?
1) Install the main game if it isn't already.
2) Download D-Mod of choice, taking Stone of Balance as an example you'll get a file called "sob.dmod". Stick that on a CD or whatever, put it on the computer with Dink on, and double click it. It should install fine.
3) If it doesn't work, you can try it manually. Get an unzipping program such as 7-Zip and extract the .dmod file twice (it's a .tar.bz2). Put that folder you get inside your Dink folder, this is C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood on Win XP and somewhere similar on Vista/7.
4) If it still doesn't work, you've done something wrong
