The Dink Network

What do you think? It's my first attempt to render a landscape. It's made in blender and the clouds are drawn in GIMP.

I've also done a lot more dink-related images for my dmod that I might show you some screenshots of later

Well, hmmm, I don't know what would be the right way to put it. Well, it's a good start, but I do hope you can do better than that in future, if you know what I mean.

If you say what's wrong I could try to make it better.

The second one is already much better for some reason I can't explain. Although they still look somehow... not as good as they could be. I don't know. Hard to explain.

Pretty good. To criticize, though, the textures look a bit blurry and don't fit perfectly with Original Dink's graphics, which are sharper and clearer.

Well I think that's because I use 24bits. They don't work well with the 8bit ones

And I've tried to make 8bits... but the colours always mess up :/

Duck my life and call me quackers. (Don't, really) That is pretty impressive. Good luck with fine-tuning it.

Try different dithering or palette techniques, or mess with the colors and lighting a bit (reducing the lighting reduces the amount of unique colors, so 8-bit converted graphics may turn out better that way).

As for sharpness, just disable the antialiasing. Also saves on the amount of unique colors.

This is garbage. The sky is fcuked up badly. The island is choppy and wastefully thrown into the pathetic unrealistic dark blue sh!t of a water body.

@ABSOLUTION (a.k.a. Skorn): Go fcuk yourself. And stop fkucing saying things are horrible just because you'll never amount to it. Remember that nobody is perfect and cannot make anything perfectly. There will always be something better.

i just realized whats wrong
*the rest of the sprites are good
the multicolored ones are a problem*

the orange and green one
looks like a bug/monster/mutation and thats ok
but the crater makes it look like it has a eye

the purple and green one
oddly shaped

don't take this the wrong way but
multicolored bushes would be cool
no offence

Multicolored... I don't think this game is supposed to be portraying the effects of LSD.

Unless you meant different shades of green... I'd actually like to see some new bushes in Dink, but they're the more difficult things to model.

They don't fit with normal Dink graphics so well.

True that, now that you mention... I think it's just a different cartoon style to Dink Smallwood, which is more like traditional American/ European cartoon style (Think DC)
