Guys I want to appologize for the massive posts of my D-Mods!

The following post just happen to be the same D-Mod in some extent, well the maps the same anyways! I did not pay attention and had forgotten which was which was newest, and ect.

http://www.dinknetwork.com/forum.cgi?MID=108971&Posts=4
and
http://www.dinknetwork.com/forum.cgi?MID=108909&Posts=2

Plus several other mentions of it throughout the forum.

Apparently after doing some research of all my D-Mods the following are infact the same source/same map/same style! However they each have a different leveling System and added shops and features.

SuperDink
Ace's Adventures
Dink's Nightmare
Ace's Super Adventure
Super Ace Adventures

These was the names I kept using when working with the D-Mod.

Another one I found which was being restarted was actually called "Ace's Super Adventure", "Super Ace Adventure", and the other "AceAdventure", but they were a complete failure and I quit completely on it! Next was Diablo however a whole new Map and System, I was working on new sprites for monsters at that time, and was going to incorperate them sprites in Selda, Diablo, and Ace's Super Adventures. The true final version is actually Dink's Nightmare, but that name can be changed.

Anyways Since they all have a different name and simular in map and style I am giving you guys an oppertunity to choose between the names I mentioned. Which name would you like to be the name of this Mod which is/was Super Dink?

It's not much of an adventure, so I'd stick with SuperDink.

You acting like one of the Dink Characters on purpose would be an example of an "Act".

Dink's Nightmare, that's a bit more inspiring than the other titles- and the music seems to fit too.

I prefer one of the Adenture titles. Dink's Nightmare doesn't seem fitting if it's not really scary (or a dream for that matter.) Dink does fight monsters as an everyday thing, so I doubt there would be any fear involved.

Just for clarification: Is this going to be an update to SuperDink, or a new DMOD entirely?

I agree with rabid. If I download a "Nightmare" game, I want evil clowns, killer dolls, child psychopaths, Guys with shears for hands, Ravens from the pits of hell, gore, bloodshed, suspense and mystery.

This D-MOD is going to be a Romp, always a Romp. You go in kill and kill or be killed and level of course. I am waiting for the name to be changed, but still waiting for feedback. Once I see the majority vote is high for one name I will make a new logo for it, and have the button graphics fit accordingly to the setting. I am going to possibly incorperate an intro... but not sure about doing that. I do not want to delay the update and new name. Also this would be version 3.0 so 2.0 was skipped do to the fact it was made already. Yall are playing 1.0 and alot of stuff in 1.0 to 3.0 has change signifigantly except the map layout and some shops. Also I will be fixing the shops, I do not know if anyone has noticed but some old Dink related Story lines are still associated with the Old Woman who sells stuff. I will be fixing this before releasing 3.0...

EDIT:

Version list:

1.0 SuperDink
2.0 Ace's Adventures
3.0 Dink's Nightmare

All these were made 2 or 3 years ago and just now being released, or talked about in the forums.

1.0 You are probably playing it right now...

2.0 Will not be released as said earlier...

3.0 Before this is released there will be several minor updates to the MOD.

4.0 Will be after name is changed and sufficient updates required after 3.0 is released for downloading and will be the Final and last product, but there is no promises for this version anytime soon.

So in clarrification they are the same source and map.

Here is a preview of the new map tags and layout. Its simular, but now Saves are marked and New Shops added and marked. Not all Saves are marked, example ones in caves! This is not a draft it is from Dinkmare the 3.0 update...

Oh by the way, is there any plot here, or is it just farming monsters for levels?

So, do the levels mean anything (like a recommended level requirement to fight) or are they just made up?

And a plot would be nice. Even Diablo had a main quest. Optional quests, optional dungeons, champion monsters, boss fights.. those would all be very fitting for this type of DMOD as well.

You could also do an end game dungeon where the monsters' stats are based on Dink's level. There could be a big boss every so often. You could keep the game challenging this way.

One last thing.. If all your stores are exactly the same, why not save all those screens and have a waypoint system?

They dont goto the same shop, the levels is for people like me I said a long time ago on here... the type of person who cant get enough of killing/leveling up. That was one of the aspects of Dink Smallwood I hated... only level 25 - 50 max levels been so long since I played it I forgot what the cap on level was. But its one aspect I hated, was not enough monsters and not enough levels. So that is one reason I made this D-Mod in the first place was to make Dink have 999 Levels and have fun hacking up monsters and leveling up.

The other thing I was going to add in a future release was crazy/funny dialog for the shops/monsters with hints and other things as well. I also thought about making a simple story line as to say, "Dink is stuck in a nightmare from his past and cant wake up, wake him up by getting past level 999" or something to that effect, but with a little more detail.

I also was going to add more monsters, like White, Purple, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Black Pillbugs, and same for all other monsters to allow more challenging monsters.

But most of the updates will be included in 4.0 becuase 3.0 is ready besides the Logo and Name of the Mod.

After great consideration and since everyone was complaining about it, I am currently removing the sounds for the Knights that made the "tink" sound and making it more enjoyable and less annoying! This update will be in version 3.0.

Ok V3.0 is uploaded and waiting Review, these are the following changes:

What you will expect to see changed from Version 1.0 to 3.0 is:

New Logo to match the Dink's Nightmare name.

New Buttons to match the D-Mod Logo.

The Monsters are a bit harder and higher in level and exp and health.

Magic is now more noticably important than before, not only does your magic do its normal damage it also does damage based on your magic power, and
level.

The "Tink" sound is removed on all Knights, they only make that sound when they hit and is not as annoying as before.

The some hardness but not all hardness issues fixed.

Some Music Changes, or updates.

There are some new secrets, so be ready to look for them.

The NPC Old Lady in all Shops no longer refers to old Dink Smallwood Quests, but more involved in this D-Mod and does not reflect the story line from Original Dink.

Map has 2 New Shops in the fridgid area and are marked for your convenience on maps.

More Save spots are marked on map for your conveiences.

Also the higher you level the faster Dink animates, this should of been in Version 1.0 but I think no one is noticing it or its just not there...

Several minor changing probably not noticable to players.

File size greatly reduced!

File name changed from Superdink.dmod to Dinkmare.dmod, this change is permanent. You can keep or remove the old dmod if you wish.

Decided on Dink's Nightmare as the D-Mod name, this is also permanent and will be the same for future versions!

And you guessed it, it is not backwards compatible save game files with SuperDink...
