This file is for those who want to create a D-mod, but do not have the basic skills.

First of all the name: although the name of this file is D-mod Help, it only covers the basic skills. And although you do need to know the basic skills, I thought the name was misleading, since I expected this file to be a complete guide for making D-mods.

The file focuses on the mapping and putting sprites on the screen in the editor.

Good: It explains clearly how to create directories for a D-mod, and explains what the directories are for. It explains what files are needed, and how to access to editor and where to get a front-end. It explains step by step how to create a background, including stamping tiles and how to remove hardness, and how to add a sprite. There is a conveniently arranged survey of the sprite settings. The hardness for houses and bridges is explained, as is explained how to add a savebot. It also explains how to make a warp in two different ways. You can follow the instructions step by step.

Not so good: The file is a bit hard to read, since the text is aligned to the centre. Some text was copied directly from DinkC.txt. The explanations are here and there in telegram style, which is perhaps more difficult to understand for newbies. The links in the file didn’t work, or it was stated that a certain link to a more in-depth explanation was not available yet. The section about scripts was merely a statement about scripts; it did not explain scripts.

Overall: A good file if you want to make a D-mod but do not know were to start.
