Well I normally don't write reviews but when I saw that this one had a higher rating than say Stone of Balance, I decided to check it out. With a rating of 9.8 (at the time of reviewing) I thought that this would have to be an exceptional d-mod, but sadly it was a let down...

Storyline - 4.0
The story goes like this, Dink decides to go for a walk, and after crossing a bridge he decides to turn back. Only as you walk two screens backward the bridge you just crossed less than a minute ago is on fire... so you are stuck, apparently 2000 miles away from home according to the local mayor.

So you do a few random things like talk to a goblin and fetch some meat to trade for her knife or just kill her, and then you have to talk to the mayor and get a house (why?) and then go find a duck... that is about it quest wise...

Afterwards you go to a village that is closed and wonder why the gate is closed, go talk to a lady and she tells you that it got attacked by ghosts, this is the beginning of the main story and the game is 3/4 over. Not a very strong and entertaining story...

Mapping and Graphics - 5.0

Just normal tiles and two villages. The only new graphics are the two ghosts which are a bit lackluster...

Gameplay - 4.0
Do one quest, git a house, and if you want get a knife. After that hack n' slash through screen after screen of ghosts. With screen locks mind you. This is also takes place in one cave the rest of the way. I counted on one single screen 18+ ghosts. Considering the only bonuses in the cave are a golden heart, and a blue potion you are pretty much dead unless you only get hit once every five or so screens, which is all but inpossible with 18+ ghosts... jeez. Also the only savebot is more than halfway through the cave, and it is in a little passageway filled with ghosts, with a screen lock!!

Then after all that you have to dodge ghosts, and then most likily your game freezes and you have to shut off your computer because unless you dash back and forth across the screen your game will freeze. Positive. The author most likily knows this also because it happened every time I tried it, and no warning was given.

Style - 2.0
Basic hack n' slash with a couple quests thrown in...

Problems:
-The noted ghost problem that happens everytime you don't move enough at a certain part will freeze the game and lock up your computer.
-When new music starts the game freezes for a few seconds.
-Dancing staircases that move back and forth.

Overall -
Unless you like hack n' slash I really wouldn't recommended it... shouldn't have the 9.8 rating it got...

The nation above all
The story is okay, the mapping is nice. It features new graphics like a dagger (that was nice) and ghosts (they were okay). I wanted to love this D-Mod, but the balance threw me off. The intro is actually pretty nice, and there are a few quests you can do. But about halfway through the game you will meet a boss called the Spirit King. The problem is, the boss is faster than you are and you'll end up dying at the level you are right now. But the main problem is, there's no easy way to get healed, abd absolutely no way to save the game right before the fight. You have to get past a tedious sequence between the nearest save point and the boss. Than maybe you should grind more to defeat the boss? No, the only enemies you can gring on are pillbugs (5 xp) and ghosts(5-10 xp, but they don't drop any healing items). Grinding through these would be tedious. I had to cheat to beat him. And the next boss fight is too easy. You can just use the summoned goblins to your advantage to start hurting the boss, and with fireball magic now avaliable you can easily take him out from the distance. I would not recommend this D-Mod unless you are interested in the dagger as a weapon or just want to experience how the story of the first D-Mod continoues. Be aware however that it will not give a conclusion, it ends on a cliffhanger.

Nice d-mod, pity it's only a demo, if the full version comes out, it will be excellent .
I liked this D-mod a lot.
Graphic:There are some new ones. Like the ghosts and so on...

Gameplay:Excellent, no comment, but great!

Music:Good, sometimes really fits the situation. There is also new ones.

There are few bugs, the bad thing is that I heard that game freezes and so...Too bad...really....

Story:A bit weird, Dink takes a "small" walk and ends up in a village that is veeeeeeeeeeeeeery far from his home XD.

This D-mod is excellent, it would be a lot better if the full version comes out, and the bugs get fixed, anyway great work, and keep it up!!

Overall:8.6-it will be higher...if the bugs are fixed...

Introduction and summary: The famous Dink Smallwood goes for a walk, apparently a very long one. He is stranded on an island and he cannot get back. After defeating Firamin in his last adventure he soon finds out that there is another evil ancient, Aramin. He must defeat him in this great d-mod.

Storyline:9.9:Exceptional: I must say that the storyline line in this d-mod is incredible! Somehow he gets stranded on an island and he must defeat the person or should I say ancient responsible, Aramin.

Mapping and Graphics:8.0:Good: The map and graphics were basically just the normal graphics from Dink Smallwood but when it came to the ghosts it changed a bit. I liked the ghost part because he did not just make people and make them say ghostly or old words, he actually made them look like ghosts. Nice one (not sarcastic.)

Music:7.5:Good: The music was pretty good in my words, but I am still waiting for someone to make an original soundtrack where it isn't just midis from Final Fantasy. But since almost everyone else does the same thing, I say it deserves a good mark.

Gameplay:8.5:Good: Just like any other Dink d-mod, you go around and fight. Although the fighting was quite difficult and challenging I won't it a "perfect" mark, but it deserves a good one for, challenging fights, good spelling and a being original with the ghosts (unlike other d-mods.)

Style:9.9:Exceptional: Let's make it quick, 8.0 points for being sooooooo original (not sarcastic) and plus 1.9 for humor (I noticed some such as the tease with the potion in the tree.)

Problems: I noticed that right before the end boss and right after dodging all the ghosts if you do not move around and just stay there your game will freeze, listen to me, when dodging don't just go,"Oop ghost *dodge*, oop another ghost *dodge* you have to move around.

Overall: An "awesome" d-mod with a capital A. It features Dink fighting a new ancient, Aramin. Great job and keep up the good work, Lunacre!

Fit for: People who love incredibly good d-mods.
