Which Is Better?
WinDinkEdit or WinDinkEdit Plus? Some reviews for + say it's buggier, but I've noticed a few extra helpful features in +.
So what does everyone else think?
(Not a discussion about WinDinkEdit and normal DinkEdit, I don't care about the original)

I prefer WinDinkEdit PLus.
And I still use original DinkEdit sometimes, even if it's very rare.

I'm currently using the Plus version and it works perfectly... Much better than the original version.
I'm also using Plus because the original had an annoying bug. (or perhaps because I'm using Vista). WinDinkEdit worked but when hovering over a sprite you couldn't see which sequence or frame that sprite was on the status bar at the bottom. It would just say 'ready'. In Plus the bug was fixed.
I've only ever used Plus but that's the one feature I wish it did have. Are you sure you've got that the right way round?
WinDinkEdit Plus was written in C and it's an improved version of WinDinkEdit.
It comes with WinC 1.0. WinC 1.0 has features like : Syntax hightligning, Script hotkeys (tools->Script Helper for more information), AutioIndent (tools->Indent) and Error Check: Checks for common errors such as bracket errors. (tools->Error Check).

· WinDinkEdit
What's New in This Release:
Bugfixes:
· Fixed the bug where anything on the statusbar would flash back to Ready.
· No longer crashes when you undo past an sprite selection.
· Various menu bugs.
· Changed ` key to U, because it didn't work.

'Fixed the bug where anything on the statusbar would flash back to Ready'
That was the annoying one.

I actually never use any other brain than the "repeat" and "creature (diag)" and "creature (no diag)".
I started using Plus when I started getting fed up with a bug (which I forget) in regular.
I still prefer to use a combo of Plus and normal DinkEdit for mapmaking, working to each of their strengths.

Nice, Quiztis.
I'm only using WinDinkEdit... I like how you see the big picture of the map, not just one screen at the time. Maybe it's time for me to try WinDinkedit Plus.

Your welcome Marpo.
WinDinkEdit overall has much more options and features than the original DinkEdit, but it seems that people like using the old DinkEdit too.

I only use DinkEdit, so couldn't possibly comment. The features of WinDinkEdit+ sound pretty neat, but I could never give up my beloved DinkEdit.

Personally, if I can ever manage to get around to not being a lazy baking banana, I'd download both norm and plus editors to give 'em a go, Might consider it if I ever think of a good storyline to use for a d-mod.
WinDinkEdit Plus is definitely the best map editor out there. I still mainly use the old DinkEdit because I'm stubborn and nostalgic, but everyone should at least try switching to WinDinkEdit Plus.
