You feed the madness, and it feeds on you.
This should fix it, if it doesn't than I'm not sure what the problem is:

first, go into Start >> programs >> accessories >> entertainment >> volume control
and make sure that Master Volume, Wave, and SW Synth aren't muted or turned down.
Now go into dink and see if the music works.

If it still doesn't work:
go into control panel >> sounds and audio devices, click the audio tab and where it says 'MIDI music playback', under that, click the drop down arrow and if there is two options select the other one (the one that wasn't already selected). Click ok.

You don't have to have MIDI support on modern sound cards anymore. In fact, they usually don't have that anymore (well, non-expensive or onboard ones, anyway). It's all replaced by Windows' software synthesizer ("SW Synth") so you don't have to worry about MIDI support.

Changing the SW Synth volume and unmuting it should give you music...

You can also get to volume control like this: go to control panel > sounds and audio devices and under the volume tab click advanced, then put SW Synth up full.

Man, you people write crappy English. Anyone ever heard of punctuation, capitalization and proper spelling around here? I mean, I'm not even from a country where English is the native language, unlike you people, and I write better than you! You should be ashamed of yourselves.

That certainly came out of nowhere. If you're going to play Grammar Cop, there are many other threads that are more opportune. Everything I've read here is legible, at least.

That's the problem these days. Apparently, "legible" is good enough.

even if i rite liek this its still legible but is it good english no i dont thnik so. i mean cudlnt we all jsut start ritin leik this, since apparenlty its good enuf for our friend tal here

Awful. Legible, yes. Good English, no. It's not hard to write well. Perfect is a different matter, but I am not asking for perfect. I'm asking for good.

Good enough. I understand you.

Why are you so cranky these days? To me, it seems rather childish to go around boasting, "I write better English than you do, and I'm not even a native speaker!". They ought to get it when you write in your good English. 'Cause that's not urging anybody to use correct grammar or whatnot, it's just letting everyone know you're better than them. It's awfully irritating. Thank you for the opportunity to let you know.

You're welcome? I don't think I'm unjustifiably cranky. This place used to be better when I first joined. Now, however, many of the good old people left, and those who replaced them are not exactly up to par.

I used to be the one nagging like that, but you should learn to loosen up a bit. People who talk English badly will automatically either improve their language or leave the community in time.

Or sometimes both (see DinkKiller).

Daniel, there are clowns.
I can understand being surly occasionally, but there's reason to full-out Grammarian. I've taken out my frustrations on specific derserving n00bs before, but as far as I've seen, wagonman really hasn't really done anything worthy of getting blasted for something as mundane as improper grammar.
