if someone is going to release a Dmod then maybe

you can do something to replace

the old

"huh?" "I'm bored" "not much hapening here"

"i'm fairly sure I can't talk or use that"

or is it inpossible?

Good point. I hate that too, to see the same time and time again. Too bad it is indeed impossible too change it: it's written in the Dink engine, so you'd have to hack Dink to be able to change it. dangit

NEWS FLASH: Christiaan is Finally Right (just teasing )

But yeah, you gotta hack into the dink.exe to mess with it. A...good friend of mine (won't say who) made it to where Dink said "Tal sucks!" every time he used magic. Buaha.

As far as hacking, it would be an extremely easy thing to change, it's just plain text stored in dink.exe. (though the comment would have to stay the same length if done the easy way) But when you think about trying to put that in a d-mod, it's a lot harder. Who really wants d-mods to be modifying exe files?

Inceidently, it's easy to change the "hocus pocus!", "I'm not a wizard.", you just create a "spell" that makes Dink say that and give him that when he has no other magic.

You might think you could set up some sort of large sprite that Dink would be talking to when no other sprite was there, but this doesn't seem to work well, either he can't talk to anything else, or you get the same old messages. I wouldn't say it's impossible to make a workaround like that work though. Maybe I just haven't tried the right hing yet, huh?

No, the engine limits that... anyway.

You can use another key for talking, I could have made that (loops, variable checking and such. ), but then Dink would still say the same things when you pressed SPACE.

the part with exe stuff.

you could make a DMod that rund through exe.

just replace the originall program file with you

your files. [story map and etc.]

i think i did that once.

So if you run that dmod with exe you could just

replace those phrases.

ORRRRR

if you change the phrases in dink exe,

then won't the phrases be chnged in the dmods?

I mean the engine is the same.

DMODS have everything the same.Dink walks

punches,talks IT'S ALL THE ENGINE.

ORRRRRRR

HACK THROUGH SOME BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
